Voor bezoekers van dit weblog is het wellicht interessant iets over de auteur te weten. Ik ben Marco van den Doel en heb altijd al een fascinatie voor de Verenigde 
Staten gehad. Het land, de cultuur, de mensen; het is allemaal heel verschillend. De verscheidenheid van het land spreekt mij erg aan. Ik heb over Amerika gelezen, ik heb veel in Amerika gereisd en met veel verschillende Amerikanen gesproken. Zodoende heb ik een goed idee wat er in Amerika speelt.
Ik heb gestudeerd aan de faculteit Communicatie en Journalistiek aan de Hogeschool Utrecht waar ik de Bachelor opleiding Communicatiemanagement heb gevolgd. Ik heb vervolgens in Amerika aan de University of Tennessee in Knoxville gestudeerd waar ik onder andere vakken als media, reclame en public relations heb gevolgd. Daarnaast heb ik een Master of Science in International Applied Communication van de University of Central Lancashire in Preston, Verenigd Koninkrijk. Ik heb daar onder andere vakken gevolgd als media communicatie, digitale communicatie en communicatie management.
Ik ben naast Amerika-watcher en kenner ook blogger, schrijver, (web)redacteur, communicatie en social media adviseur.
